Chinese Medicine in the United States Today

Traditional Chinese Medicine has been practiced in the United States since the time of the construction of the transcontinental railroad. Unfortunately the awareness of TCM in the United States is about at the point Chiropractic care was 40 years ago. But it is gaining more and more acceptance. Many studies have been done at major universities and medical facilities proving the efficacy of acupuncture. Other modalities within TCM have not been studied quite as extensively, but are being widely used, such as Chinese Herbology and Oriental Bodywork Therapy.

A number of fully accredited TCM universities are now established in the United States educating the next generation of nationally board certified Doctors of Oriental Medicine. And awareness of the efficacy of TCM is gaining more momentum within the traditional western medical community. In fact, acupuncture is now used as a treatment modality at the prestigious Mayo Clinic. Another western medical study on the effects of using acupuncture to treat infertility was completed in Germany 5 years ago. The results were overwhelmingly favorable showing a 24% increase in pregnancies among the acupuncture control group.

The importance of having proven TCM as a viable and effective treatment modality within the western medical community has incredible ramifications for patients as well as practitioners of TCM. At The Neeley Center for Health, we have been very blessed and encouraged to have established and been accepted into a large network of western medical doctors as well as other practitioners of “alternative medicine.” This allows the patient to receive the healthcare modalities best meeting their individual needs. Additionally, as awareness of TCM becomes more prevalent, insurance companies will become more compliant in paying for treatments. In summary, as TCM becomes more and more accepted within the healthcare system in the United States, costs to patients will become more offset by insurance.

Lastly, the advent of TCM becoming more and more popular in the United States helps establish us within the “village” of healthcare. I say this because of the Chinese idiom “It takes a village” meaning that very often the best healing takes place using a variety of modalities. For instance, if a person comes to The Neeley Center for Health complaining of back pain, we may very well refer them to a Chiropractor as well as using acupuncture. If we suspect certain very serious pathologies, we refer to an MD. If we detect unresolved emotional issues, we employ counseling and Rapid Eye Technology. It takes a village.

Welcome to our Blog. My name is Mike Neeley. My wife, Cindy and I have been on Dr. Ladd McNamara's team for several years. I want to say that there are many, many reasons I feel very proud to be a part of this particular team and the opportunities it provides. First of all, the leadership provided by Dr. Ladd McNamara is unparalleled. It has been proven to me many times over the past 4 years that Dr. McNamara truly leads by example. His willingness to help anyone and everyone, even people he has never met, and more often than not without any compensation, is just one example of his incredible heart and compassion.

In any organization, the best leaders are also "doer's" rather than just talkers. Ladd McNamara, M.D. leads exactly this way. He is a leader's leader, a Doctor's Doctor, and a friend to everyone who ever is blessed enough to cross his path in this life. As for the opportunities provided with this company and on this team, there are too many to mention them all. I will say that besides the financial benefits, I have made invaluable life-long friendships by being on this team. Dr. Ladd McNamara also introduced me to the Klemmer and Associates personal development and leadership work. The personal growth I have experienced, particularly through this program (Klemmer and Associates) has been nothing short of miraculous.

I must say, the greatest opportunity for me personally comes in helping people with their health issues. After 5 1/2 years in western medical school and 5 additional years in Oriental Medical school, then establishing my practice, it became rather clear to me that I could only interact with a finite number of patients per day. That is what really motivates me to attain the highest position possible within this particular opportunity; helping tremendous numbers of people than I could if I was restricted just to my practice, ....many of whom I have never met. Basically, doing what my dear friend, Dr. Ladd McNamara is doing, and I have come to understand why he retired early from his medical practice to spread the vision and mission of Dr. Myron Wentz on a global scale where it is possible for him to effect the health of hundreds of thousands of people, rather than just a few thousand people in the Atlanta area. Meet Our Team Leader and Emerald Director, Ladd McNamara, M.D.

I would like to recognize Doc Mike and Cindy for taking such incredibly bold steps into the wellness arena, especially into network marketing where most people don't understand the concept. Where there is a lack of understanding, there is often fear. I know because I had that fear. Once I came to see that the products developed by Dr. Myron Wentz, the company founded by him, and the fair fiancial opportunity available to everyone regardless of background, education, dreams or desires, I got over my fears. I decided the truth of letting people know about true health that was available with these products was too important to remain silent. I had to be a part of this company. I had to let my patients, friends, and family member s know that these products do change people's lives. Mike and Cindy are following this same path, and I am VERY proud of them!

I recall first discussing these same issues with Doc Mike in his office between patient appointments. His main concern was about providing quality nutritional supplements to his patients at a fair price. He wanted to make sure his patients not only got the products that would truly promote their health, but would be a value as well. He trusted what I had to say, but it was what he experienced over the next few months that convinced him that these products were real. Just like me, it was the experience I had in my medical practice in Atlanta that convinced me that the pharmaceutical-grade nutritional supplements were indeed real. I could not deny this fact&nb sp;reg ardless of the pressure I was under from my colleagues.

It was my dream to help people with their health AND make a good living in the process. With this opportunity, I am doing both WITHOUT the insurance headaches and overhead that came with my medical practice. I enjoyed the practice of medicine, especially working with my patients. I was a board certified medical doctor in Atlanta for over ten years, and chose to retire in December of 2003 because I saw that this opportunity was incredible! I saw that the products were truly changing the health and lives of my patients, family, and friends ...that's what turned me, a VERY skeptical medical doctor, into a true believer.

I also came to realize something that I never thought was possible; network marketing was indeed credible, ....or at least it COULD BE credible if done right! I would have never imagined myself going through so many years of education and training at some of the top medical institutions in this country, doing medical research, publishing medical research papers, setting up a medical practice, obtaining board certification .... all to walk away from it to go into network marketing; but I did. I released myself from the burdens of a traditional medical practice, which included the woes of running a daily "business," and gave myself the gift of pursuing financial and time freedom, mental and physical health through this amazing opportunity. I realized that my dream of financial freedom, of time freedom, of health .... of doing what I wanted when I wanted ... of following my passion for helping others, of discovering the truth whether it was popular or not among my peers, was greater than my fear of what people thought of me working my network marketing business.

I have found "The Cholesterol Conspiracy" by Dr. Ladd McNamara to be an incredible book. It provides information about the true underlying cause of heart disease (oxidation and inflammation), and what you can do to promote a healthy heart through proper diet, exercise and most importantly nutritional supplementation. Many people are placed on statin drugs without realizing the consequences or alternatives.
